SEHWAN – Over 65 people are feared dead while 65 people are injured in the suicide blast inside the shrine of Laal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan city of interior Sindh, PakistanTribe.com reported.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa ordered immediate medical assistance to victims to the deadly suicide blast at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in Sehwan Sharif.
In a message, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that army and rangers including medial teams were moved to the blast site.
“The combined military hospital of Hyderabad is ready to receive the injured,” he said.
At least 100 people including women and children were killed and scores others wounded when a suicide bomber struck the Sufi shrine during dhamal.
Te blast occurred inside the shrine during the Dhamal. The shrine is frequented by thousands of devotees and pilgrims on a daily basis.
An emergency has been imposed in the nearby hospitals.
According to reports reaching here, the blast took place inside the shrine, triggering a stampede and panic in the area.
Rescue teams and police rushed to the spot to determine the nature of the blast.
Hyderabad Commissioner Qazi Shahid Pervaiz confirmed that there were reports of blast at the shrine. “Emergency has been declared in all hospitals of Hyderabad, Jamshoro and Sehwan Sharif,” he said.
The commissioner said that the blast took place outside the shrine.
The injured are being shifted to Liaquat Medical College, Jamshoro and other hospitals of Dadu and Hyderabad.
