TEHRAN – Since Iran’s landmark diplomatic victory in signing a deal to stop uranium enrichment in exchange for removing sanctions, Russia and Iran have increased cooperation now as 150 tonnes of Uranium reached Iran.
According to details, the delivery of ‘Yellowcake’ a form of uranium began in January which has now been completed.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman for Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), confirmed the news that the last cache of yellowcake has been delivered to Isfahan in Iran.
He added that around 50 tonnes of Uranium had been prepared in the previous 12 years. However, this quantity is not enough to cater to the need of the country.
Behrouz Kamalvandi noted that so far 360 tonnes ‘yellow cake’ has been given to Iran while their country is also struggling to discover more sources of uranium.
Earlier, Iran and Russia have signed contracts on construction atomic powerhouses in Bushire, the western city of Iran.
