PESHAWAR – Star all-rounder Shahid Afridi seems to have offended former skipper and PTI Chairman Imran Khan by suggesting that Punjab was the best performing province in Pakistan.
In a TV interview last month, Afridi said Imran Khan didn’t live up to his expectations as far as development work in the country’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is concerned. “Punjab has outperformed all other provinces,” he said.
When asked to respond to Afridi’s remarks in an interview with a private television channel, Imran Khan laughed off the criticism and went on to question former’s understanding of “actual development”, reported Samaa.
“Maybe Shahid Afridi has no idea what actual work is supposed to be,” Khan said and then explained that he thinks actual development means spending on human development instead of showing off mega projects. He said the “mega-projects” are also a source of corruption.
Khan, addressing a ceremony hosted by Peshawar Zalmi in Peshawar, said that Pervez Khattak was the number 1 Chief Minister. Shahid Afridi was also one of the participants.
