ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned on Monday the Satellite Data Providing Services who are flouting PTA rules and regulations.
A notice has been taken by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) over the provision of illicit satellite based internet connections across the country.
Report says that the provision of illegal internet services to the masses poses a security threats as well as giving loss to the national exchequer.
Since the PTA has informed regarding the matter, it has preferred the path of controlling the illicit services over taking stern notice of the issue.
The PTA licensing rule stipulated that all the telecommunication services which are to be provided to the user must have taken NOC from PTA otherwise the internet connection in any form will be considered illegal while the provision of data services via satellite are illegal.
As per the PTA (Re-Organization) Act 1996 and PTA’s rules, it is illegal to provide such connections to user, therefore, the PTA maintained in one of its notice being served to the violators that the public should avoid availing the facility of such connections which will create problems for them.
