SYDNEY – Continous misfields and drop catches help Australia post a sizable total of 353/6 in the fourth ODI of the five-match series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Sydney on Sunday.
Australia skipper Steve Smith won the fourth consecutive toss and opted to bat first on a batting-friendly wicket.
Both Australian openers started off fiercely, but after Khawaja’s wicket by Hasan, Pakistan kept the scoring rate under 5.
Warner and Smith the began to take on Pakistan bowlers, especially Warner, who reached to his hundred and went on to get 130 off just 119 balls.
Warner returned to form just when it needed the most. His brisk hundred after Khwaja’s wicket had put Pakistan in all sorts of pressure. Their strike bowlers had gone for runs; they had a lot of sloppy fielding display on the ground. Hasan’s double gave them hope.
