TIMERGARA – Commandant Dir Task Force (DTF) colonel Khalid Mehmood Shafi on Thursday asked civil society and well off people to take extra care of orphan and poor students in order to make them active citizen.
He was speaking at a function at Dar us Salam Orphanage, an education academy at Mayar Jandol as chief guest. Earlier the director of the Orphanage Abdul Mabool told the participants that a total of 157 orphan students were being provided with free education and residence.
He said the academy would provide them free education from nursery to grade 8th.
The commandant DTF donated ration for students for two months, Rs 10,000 and announced to construct an additional room and bath room at the academy.
The ration contained of ghee, flour, milk powder, tea leaves and pulses. He said helping and supporting orphan and poor children was a great humanitarian service. “Those are great personalities who help and educate helpless children,” the commandant said, asking the civil society to take pity on orphans and poor students.
He also asked the wealthy persons to cooperate with education institutions which provide free education to poor students. The commandant Jandol battalion Lieutenant colonel Faisal Amin, area elders and other military officers were also present on the occasion.
