ISLAMABAD – Amid rising security concerns, the federal government on Tuesday has issued an advisory regarding tagging and uploading of pictures on the social media.
National Telecom & IT Security Board issued an advisory in this regard, which reads as, “It has come to notice that a lot of people visiting or living in sensitive areas tend to tag their location and upload pictures on social media or Google maps. This creates a serious security concerned as it can expose sensitive locations on the internet.”
The government has advised people to avoid marking sensitive areas on maps, urging them to turn off Wifi, mobile internet and GPS while visiting a sensitive location.
The users have been directed to report any malicious activity to these two email addresses: email@example.com , firstname.lastname@example.org
Servers of both the email addresses are hosted in US and Germany.
