KARACHI – Sindh government on Tuesday stopped Inspector General (IG) of Sindh police A.D. Khawaja from issuing transfer orders of officers, PakistanTribe.com learnt from local media.
Khajawa, who was restored as IG Sindh after a brief period of forced leave, was stopped from doing his duties as a Sindh police head.
Dunya News reported via its sources revealed that at least two weeks ago, IG Sindh A.D. Khawaja was stopped from issuing transfer orders and appointments of police officers.
Moreover, CM House had also issued a verbal declaration in this regard.
Earlier, A.D. Khawaja was forced to take leave from his post on arrival of co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari.
A source privy to the matter revealed that the decision was made after a close aide to Zardari complained against him for ‘interfering’ his business issues in Badin.
Zardari, as per reports, therefore ordered Sindh govt to sack Khawaja as IG Sindh, but, the decision was soon returned due to pressure from Federation and the army.
