KARACHI – Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh Maula Bux Chandio raised concerns over fresh raids carried in Karachi by Rangers hours before the return of Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of PPP.
Chandio made these remarks while speaking to media in Karachi.
“The raids give an impression that they were carried out as part of a political vendetta,” said Chandio.
He said that the Sindh government should have been taken into confidence before conducting the raids.
The Rangers recovered arms and seized documents during the raids conducted at the offices of Asif Zardari’s close aide Anwar Majeed.
According to Rangers spokesman, the accused arrested in the raids were identified as Shahzad Shahid, Rajab Ali Rajpar, Ajmal Khan, Kamran Munir Ansari and Kashif Hussain.
It said that the weapons recovered in the raids included 17 Kalashinkov, four pistols, nine ball bombs and 3,225 ammunition of various kinds.
