RAWALPINDI – The corps commanders met at General Headquarter in Rawalpindi on Thursday, expressing satisfaction at the military’s operational preparedness to deal with any possible threat, PakistanTribe.com reported.
The commanders met under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and discussed the country’s security situation.
During the meeting, the commanders were briefed on the internal and external threats facing the country.
The commanders also expressed their satisfaction over the recent meeting of the DGMOs of India and Pakistan during which the two sides pledged to uphold the 2003 Line of Control (LoC) ceasefire accord which had been left in tatters by repeated violations during the last year.
General Sharif, the country’s new army chief, had also visited the troops deployed in forward locations along the LoC soon after assuming the command on Nov 29.
The general has already visited North and South Waziristan, the northwestern regions labeled by the US as areas from which terror attacks are launched inside Afghanistan.
