In August, the Sindh government had appointed advocate Muhammad Khan Buriro and advocate Mubashir Hussain Mirza as special public prosecutors in the case.

The special public prosecutors said they were not provided compensation, security or residence at a safe location according to promises made by the Sindh government, due to which they are resigning from their positions.

At least 46 people, including men, women and children belonging to Ismaili community had lost their lives when gunmen mounted a bus in Safoora Goth and opened indefinite fire on the passengers in May this year.
