Misbah-ul-Haq, is one of Pakistan’s most successful captains and dependable batsman. Perhaps the most composed mind to have graced Pakistan cricket in recent times. its not wrong if we called Misbah as a war time captain.

Though he is known as Misbah-ul-Haq, what many people do not know is his full name: Misbah-ul-Haq Khan Niazi. If the name sounds familiar it is because of another great Pakistani captain; Imran Khan Niazi. Both men belong to the same Punjabi tribe, and perhaps will go down in history as two of Pakistan’s best captains.
A manager of men:
Misbah earned his MBA from the Lahore University of Management and Technology. His degree must have come in handy when he was named captain of perhaps the most volatile side in world cricket.
The joys of captaincy:
Misbah has scored the most runs by a Pakistan captain in Tests, the second-most runs (behind his relative Imran) by a Pakistan captain in ODIs and the most runs by a Pakistan captain in a single edition of World Cup.
Between 2010 and 2015, Misbah scored 2,878 runs in 36 matches at a tremendous average of 58.73 as Test captain. He has outscored the likes of Imran, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Javed Miandad in this respect.
With 316 runs in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Misbah went past Imran’s record for most runs as Pakistan captain in the 1983 World Cup.

After years of being the butt of jokes owing to his perceived slow batting, Misbah gave a resounding reply to his detractors, hammering the fastest Test 50 and 100 (in the same innings) against Australia at Abu Dhabi. Misbah got to his 50 off 21 balls before completing his hundred off 56 — the joint fastest Test hundred along with the legendary Sir Viv Richards.
Whitewash In Test Series:
The only captain to whitewash a side out of Pakistan in a Test series.
Win consecutive Test Series:
Misbah is one of two captains to win FOUR consecutive Test series.
Highest Winning Percentage:
Misbah has the highest winning percentage by a Pakistan captain in T20s.

Misbah has the HIGHEST batting average by a Pakistani overall.
Misbah hit the FASTEST century and the FASTEST 50 in the history of cricket.

First captain from sub-continent to beat South Africa in South Africa.
