So, let’s have a look at the various blood groups and understand their characteristics.
Blood Group A
To have a healthier mind and body, blood group A requires nutrients from carbohydrates. Due to low levels of hydrochloric acid and intestinal alkaline phosphatase with high intestinal disaccharide digestive enzyme levels in the stomach, the body can digest carbohydrates more efficiently than digest and metabolize animal protein and fat.
Blood type A must consume soy proteins, grains and vegetables frequently during the day. Especially, eat fruits that are alkaline based like apple, dates, berries, peaches etc.
Type A should strictly avoid papayas, mangoes and oranges as it will affect the digestive system. And not to forget dairy products, they are not good for As, as they provoke insulin reactions in the body. This also makes them prone to higher risks of getting cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. With proper diet plan, it will give them higher performance, mental clarity, greater vitality and increased longevity.
Blood Group B
Blood type B are more flexible compared to A or O. Unlike, these two blood groups, B can intake nutrients from both the worlds animals and vegetables. But it’s very important for B to maintain the balance. B tend to be more physically and mentally fit than any other blood type. Although, B might be victims of Syndrome X as it produces higher cortisol levels in stressful situations.
Blood type B must avoid chicken, wheat, corn, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts and sesame seeds as it will affect the metabolic process resulting in fatigue, fluid retention and hypoglycaemia. B must have larger intake of red meat, green vegetables, eggs and low fat dairy products.
Blood Group AB
This rare blood type as Dr D’Adamo claims, “Type AB has Type A’s low stomach acid, however, they also have Type B’s adaptation to meats,” which can be a problem as the meat stored in the body turns into fats. ABs should also avoid caffeine and alcohol during stressful situations. Especially, smoked or cured meats can cause stomach cancer. Abs have a sensitive digestive tract, so one must eat at small intervals to manage insulin levels.
Seafood is the best source of proteins for AB blood type, particularly mahi-mahi, red snapper, salmon, sardines and tuna. It is also advisable to not mix starches and protein in the same meal as it will create indigestion. Thus, eggs, tofu, seafood, veggies and cultured dairy such as yogurt or kefir make an ideal diet for AB type. ABs can eat red meat, but sparingly.
Blood Group O
Blood type O carry higher levels of acid, which has the ability to digest both protein and fat easily. Cholesterols from animal products help the digestive tract and absorb calcium in the body. Unlike type A, it converts simple carbohydrates like grains into fats, which can affect the immune system and create unwanted inflammation. Blood type O is also allergic to gluten, which is found in dairy and whole wheat products. Cabbage, cauliflower and kidney beans can obstruct thyroid hormones. Similarly to type AB, type O should also avoid caffeine and alcohol as it will affect their system.
Type O should include lean beef meat, lamb, turkey and chicken in their diet. Especially, more intakes of seafood, kelp and iodized salt will increase hormone production. They should also eat egg, nuts and seeds in moderation. It is also advisable for blood type O to eat their food when seated.
