RAWALPINDI – Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday has recorded statement of driver, Javedur Rehman in Benazir Bhutto murder case. He said that Naheed Khan asked the assassinated leader to come out of the car.
Javedur Rehman said there were inadequate security arrangements for BB’s public gathering, adding that the people were making telephone calls to BB over successful public gathering. He said former interior minister Rehman Malik was riding on the same vehicle, which was being used by Benazir Bhutto.
Javedur Rehman said his brother was driving the vehicle which was being used by Rehman Malik, adding that when they contacted with Malik he had reached in Bilawal house in Islamabad.
The ATC summoned report from the Foreign Ministry regarding statement of United States (US) journalist Mark Siegel statement which was recorded through video link.
Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth held hearing of the case in Adiala Jail. Rehman appeared before the court and recorded his statement. Cross questioning from the driver has been completed.
The ATC summoned prosecution’s witness Professor Azam Yousaf in next hearing. The hearing was adjourned until September 14.
