The issue was reportedly shared during a meeting of the local body in Chagai by district council chairman Malik Dilmurad Hasni who also shared a copy of the identity document.
According to local media reports citing Hasni, the identity card was issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Dilmurad Hasni also reveals that, the legendary Afghan freedom fighter Ahmad Shah Massoud also possessed a Pakistani identity document.
A spokesman for Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Faik Ali Chachar, said the computerized national identity cards (CNICs) of the suspects have either been blocked or the authority has refused to renew them.
Members of the district council lashed out at the level of corruption that has plagued NADRA, a federal agency tasked to manage the registration database of citizens in the country.
The report was followed after over 30,000 Afghan refugees were forced to leave Pakistan and return to Afghanistan amid fears of persecution by Pakistani authorities following a deadly attack on a school in Peshawar city last year.
