ISLAMABAD – Pakistan airline PIA is again in great trouble. Now the Bahrain Establishment have asked PIA to pay its unpaid dues worth 71,000 Riyals within 1 month otherwise they will not allow overflying in their country.
Already, PIA is facing ban at several key international airports including Paris and Jeddah due to non-payment of Dues.
The letter to PIA from the Bahrain’s ministry of transportation and telecommunication said it had finalized the accounts of all unpaid amount of PIA since 2010 which is 71,000 riyals.
They warned, “We request you to settle the outstanding amount within 30 days failing to do so we will have no other alternative but to stop the overflying activity of PIA to seek payment of the outstanding balance.”
PIA spokesman Aamir Memon said,” Bahrain had worked out the amount in connection with parking, overflying and landing charges since 2010”.
He also added “The bill has been forwarded to the fuel department for reconciliation of the accounts. We will pay the amount once the department concerned approves it, adding such outstanding amounts with foreign airlines were ongoing financial matters”.
As mentioned above, The Paris Airport Authority has asked the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to pay 40,000 euros for violating curfew hours (between 12 midnight to 6 am at the airport) last September by one of its flights from Lahore to Paris.
Authorities told that PIA flight from Lahore to Paris got delayed because of a technical issue.
