33% Pakistanis say they have read their horoscope; 76% read it occasionally

LAHORE – According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 33% Pakistanis say they have read their horoscope; 76% read it occasionally.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Have you ever had a chance to read your horoscope in a newspaper/magazine?” Responding to this, 33% said yes and 67% said no. Among those who said ‘yes’ were further asked how often they read their horoscope: 24% of the respondents said they read their horoscope approximately every day while 76% said they read it occasionally.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2616 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 21, 2013 – October 28, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
