Confessions video of former Taliban fighter goes viral in Pakistan

Confession video of former Taliban fighter goes viral | PakistanISLAMABAD – Pakistani social media and internet are abuzz with a video of a former Taliban fighter in which he is confessing the beheading Pakistani security personnel, reported.

In a short video of two minutes and 57 seconds, the fighter confessed that he had been a part of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), adding that he had saw the fighters — associated with the TTP — beheading the Pakistan policemen and playing football with their heads.

The TTP has been arguably the biggest security threat facing Pakistan. It was behind the 2008 bombing of the Islamabad Marriott hotel and the attempt to kill schoolgirl activist Malala Yousafzai last year.

“After the attacks we cut the heads of police personnel and bring them with us and played football with their head,” the person named Rasool Jan confessed in the video.

The fighter quoted that he quit the group after seeing the brutal act. “After the brutal act I ran away from Taliban.”

The TTP is not only considered a threat to Pakistan but United States and its allies too. The group had also claimed the 2010 Times Square bomb plot after training Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad.

When Pakistan Tribe tried to confirm the authenticity of the video uploaded by a person with the name of Baloch-Patriot, our sources decline to confirm it.
