HARARE, ZIMBABWE – Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe does not agree with the legalization of same sex marriage by the U.S Supreme Court along 50 American states.

He said he would travel to the White House and will get down on one knee and propose US President Obama.

During his weekly interview on Zimbabwe’s national radio, Zimbabwe Broad Cast ZBC, the 90-year-old Mugabe jokingly said that he planned to travel to Washington DC and going to propose president Obama, now that it’s legal for them to get married anywhere in the United States.

He said “I’ve just concluded since President Obama endorses the same-sex marriage, advocates homosexual people and enjoys an attractive countenance thus if it becomes necessary, I shall travel to Washington, D.C., get down on my knee and ask his hand.”

He also added: “I can’t understand how this people dare to defy Christ’s explicit orders as our Lord prohibited mankind from sodomy’, going on to accuse the U.S. government of being run by perverted Satan-worshipers who insult the great American nation.”

It is worth mentioning here that homosexuality is illegal in Zimbabwe and Mugabe has been a devoted promoter of homophobic persecution since he became President in 1987.

In his re-election campaign last year he urged for the heads of gay men to be chopped off and said gay people were worse than “pigs, goats and birds”.

Mugabe last year threatened to expel any diplomats who mention homosexuality in Zimbabwe, at a speech after his daughter’s wedding reception.

The Zimbabwean leader also said that although the U.S. was founded on “lofty Christian principles”, the “corrupt political elite” now acts only towards its own end.
