MULTAN – Pakistan Railways (PR) has decided to launch the Biggest operation in the history of Pakistan Railways on this Eid-ul-Fitr.
PR has announced to run special Eid trains which will serve around 30,000 passengers who wish spending Eid in their hometowns.
The historical decision was taken during a meeting presided by Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq.
CEO Muhammad Anwar Javaid, General Manager Traffic Maqsood ul Nabi, General Manager Hamayun Rasheed, Chief Operating Superintendent Abid Mehmood and Chief Commercial Manager Khalid Rasheed Kanwar also attended the meeting.
Due to over-crowded trains during the religious festival, Pakistan Railways has decided to begin especial train operation from 11th of July.
From July 11 to 16, one train each from Karachi to Lahore and Lahore to Karachi will run daily while on July 15 one train each from Quetta to Rawalpindi and Karachi to Peshawar and on July 17 one train each from Rawalpindi to Multan and Peshawar to Lahore will run.
While on July 20 one train from Multan to Karachi will run and from July 20 to 22 one train each will run from Karachi to Lahore and Lahore to Karachi daily.
It is worth mentioning here that last year, Pakistan Railways had run 14 Eid special trains to accommodate maximum number of passengers, who belonged to far-flung areas and wanted to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones.
