Your breakfast determines your tone for the whole day. The mood swings and cravings at work might be because of the kind of breakfast you have had at morning. Here are the food items which have a misconception about them as being healthy but actually these are the ones which should be kept at arm’s length while deciding what to take in breakfast.
You may be tired of the notion, ‘balanced diet’. But by reading this, you would get to know how many people ignore this even after getting tired by listening to it.
Low or No-fiber cereals
These cereals have high carbohydrates and sugar but are low in fiber. Consuming such a combination will boost your blood sugar and then would rapidly drop causing the mid-morning cravings and eventual mood swings.
Instead of eating this you should include at least 3 grams of fibers per serving in your breakfast.
Be cautious when you eat breakfast bars as most are enriched with sugar and contain a minute amount of protein and fiber.
Instead of these ones, find those containing a combination of protein, fiber, and healthy fats.
This is too little for a breakfast, this will make you ravenous by mid-morning. Consider your weight and activity intensities, consume a calorie range of 250 to 400. So your yogurt should be inclusive of oatmeal or likewise item.
A Glass of Juice
Having mere a glass of juice at morning does not serve the purpose of a breakfast. It only contains sugar and you need to balance it with other nutrients. These juices do not contain much protein to keep you full till lunch as it will boost your hunger by mid-morning.
Try something solid which comprises of fiber, protein, and fat just as an apple or peanut butter.
Muffins may seem to you a perfect breakfast item but they are simple guise for high calorized cake. It contains no whole grain or fiber. We suggest a half muffin with Greek Yogurt, it will be a perfect combo for a breakfast.
Bacon And Sausage
This is the most common and most healthy ‘thought to be’ breakfast. But one must get to know that processed meats are the most harmful kind of meat. Confine this item for family brunch only and watch out that your meal includes healthy ingredients along with that.
