LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q ) leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Wednesday warned against rigging in local government election in Punjab, saying any such move will create difficulties for the country.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain proposed a roundtable conference to discuss ways to solve the challenges being faced by Pakistan.
Speaking at a ceremony held to mark Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday anniversary and Christmas in Lahore, Hussain said that Prime MInister Nawaz Sharif should convene a roundtable conference.
The PML-N Q leader urged Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan and Asif Ali Zardari to sit together to resolve the major issues.
Addressing the gathering, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi criticized the performance of Punjab government. He said that the Punjab government had provided Rs1 billion subsidy to run Metro Bus service, adding such a huge amount should have been spent on hospitals for provision of free medicines.
The crime rate in Punjab has risen to dangerous level, he said.
The PML-Q leaders added that new record of rigging would be made in the local government elections.
“There will be difficulties for Pakistan if rigging was done again,” they warned.
