ISLAMABAD- Authorities in Pakistan have ordered the international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), ‘Save the Children’ for its “anti-Pakistan” activities.
As per the details, an official accusation has been levied on NGO that it is involved in “anti-Pakistan” activities. On this behalf, the foreign staff is ordered to leave the country within 15 days and their offices have been sealed in the capital city, Islamabad.
The NGO has “objected strongly” against the action.
‘Save the Children’ charity was previously linked with the fake vaccination program which was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of United States (US) to track down Osama Bin Laden.
But the charity has nixed such claims for having links with CIA or the Pakistani doctor, Shakil Afridi who helped carrying out the operation.
The authorities have not issued a formal announcement explaining the decision. But an official explained to the media that, “Their activities were being monitored since a long time. They were doing something which was against Pakistan’s interest.”
The organization has condemned the act and stated that all its workers are Pakistani nationals.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan government had made an announcement that it was going to tighten the rules regarding NGOs and revoked the licenses of several NGOs in this regard.
