KARACHI – With the huge growth in fashion industry, once again the decency and glamour in one pack has brought the bridal couture week which has been started on Friday night.
The three day Telenor Bridal Couture Week has gathered all the top and famous Pakistani designers at one place.
This bi-annual show held in Lahore and Karachi has now become an event which showcases the latest bridal trends of our emerging designers.
On the first day of the event, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin showcased his collection of traditional embroidery tankas in festive colours in both women and menswear.
Coming to Rizwan Ahmed, he paid tribute to his departed mother with the Jannat collection in ivory tones and play with sheer volume with lots of razzle dazzle and shimmer and shine.
Zebaish by Sana Abbas featured paneled shirts in wispy green fused with pink in a timeless classic combination but with a refined twist.
Saira Shehroz featured in a showstopper creation in this segment.
Designer Ayesha Ibrahim’s Khaista collection used silk, chiffon, jamawar and net mostly in pink and fuscia bridal tones while the silhouette remained traditional with angarkha cuts and short-tail ghararas.
After the dance performance by Ahsan Khan and Amna Ilyas, Goal by Fouzia Hammad saw An Ode to Colours put on the ramp with patterns and embellishment inspired by more traditional design elements. It was followed by yet another performance by Ahsan Khan, Zhalay Sarhadi and Fia.
The final presentation was menswear by the famous Junaid Jamshed. Sherwanis, with shalwar kurtas and waistcoats in dark tones were seen. It also set the mood for the coming wedding season for grooms wear and was the first of its kind presentation on the Telenor Bridal Couture Week ramp.
It is pertinent to mention here that the hair and make-up of all the models on all the three days is being done by Saba Ansari of Sabs Salon.
Day Two features Tabassum Mughal, Arsalan Iqbal, Erum Khan, Sarah Gandapur, Umsha by Uzma Baber, Amina Yasmeen by Mansoor Akram, Timas and Zainab Chottani while Adnan Pardesy, Mifrah, Almirah, Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, Gold Stars featuring 10 designers, Asifa & Nabeel and the UAE-based Amato Couture.
