At a conference in San Francisco, the firm launched a new version of its phone software called Android M, M stands for milkshake of two technologies.
Technology of doubling the battery life of some headsets with a new built in payment system.
Google also revealed about new smartwatch software, a plan to power home appliances with a new project called Brillo, it includes another application, an online photo and video service which will keep unlimited snaps online for free.
Google administration made many announcements including the announcement of providing offline google maps on headsets and let users in developing countries, download YouTube videos to watch later.
The launch of these features made google the latest to try and make home appliances ‘smart’.
‘Wouldn’t it be great if you can connect to more devices in your home and out and about,’ said Google’s Sundar Pichai.
“The possibilities go well beyond a smart home. Farmers and even a city’s transportation could be controlled. We see a range of opportunities that are endless.”
“It has to be a simple and elegant experience”.
“Today we are announcing project Brillo, the operating system for the internet of things. The software, which will be released later this year, is derived from Android.”
“It is small enough to run on things like door locks,” Pichai said.
