Though the claims of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif of maintaining balance between the development of Northern and Southern Punjab are high, but the reality is all different.
The children of Cholistan, few time back were bound to sit in the shadow of trees to acquire education as no concrete buildings were present in the area.
And if some were, they were not in appropriate condition to be used as classes.
One day District Communication Officer Imran Sikandar went for the inspection of an informal school in Cholistan and was asked by a girl: Aren’t the children of Cholistan humans? Don’t we have right to study?
These questioned shocked him.
The girl further said that, “because of this striking sunlight we are unable to study, we cannot concentrate on the studies, we move here and there to follow shadow.”
The way she briefed about her problems, really impressed the officer and he notified the construction of middle school in Cholistan desert.
And because of the courage of this little girl “Misbah”, her primary school is upgraded to middle school.
Five other schools are also under construction in nearby areas and for 75 villages, construction of schools is approved by government.
