ISLAMABAD – Finally the negotiations have been successful between Government and traders as Government has accepted the demand of the business community and traders to let them keep their shops open till 10 pm and the restaurants as long as they wanted in the Federal Capital.
MNA Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry told at a press conference at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accepted all the demands of the traders to extend the closing timings of the shops.
Chaudhry said between 6m to 9pm there would be no load shedding but those who want to keep their shops open from 9pm to 10 pm can use UPS or generators.
“This is the success of the trust that the government has in the business community,” he said.
However, he appealed to the traders to cooperate with the government and ensure closure of shops in Islamabad by 10:00 pm. He clarified that restaurants have been exempted from this decision.
Traders Joint Action Committee Chairman Abdul Rauf Alam and ICCI President Muzzamil Hussain Sabri thanked the Prime Minister for considering and accepting their demand.
ICCI President Muzzamil Hussain Sabri said that pharmacies are not bound to adhere to the closing times.
