ISLAMABAD- A leading figure of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and ex Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that it has happened before as well that Agha Hassan Abidi, a proficient banker, had to pay for showing extraordinary performance in the field of banking. Like international banking mafia, there can be an Information Technology (IT) mafia acting behind the scene.
“Breaking the news regarding issuance of fake degrees at the time when the company is going to launch its own channel is not a simple issue, so the investigation should be conducted with responsibility”, he further added.
The PPP leader stressed that this aspect should also be considered during inquisition of the case. He said while giving remarks on the situation arose in face of the report published in ‘New York Times’ that to judge the authenticity of the information, investigation is necessary but there should be no media trial.
Furthermore, the result of the trial being conducted under Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) can be unpleasant.
The ex-Information Minister was of the view that supposedly if Axact gets vindicated under the trial, then who would compensate for the current situation produced by the recent ‘trials’. He said further that, on the order of Federal Interior Minister, the act of conducting raids on the offices and sealing the offices of the company in the context when the company is operating from 17 years is inexplicable.
The political leader of Pakistan, Kaira has been famous for having close relations with media maintained that New York Times is not a treatise which has got every fact right. The journalist who gave this news had been expelled from Pakistan. He added further.
A Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML) leader Muftah Ismael was of the view that economic development is a first priority according to the government policies but on the basis of this, illegal acts cannot be legitimized.
While defending the raids being conducted under the order of FIA, Muftah Ismael said that the office accessories have been seized for the sake of probing.
A leader of Awami National Party (ANP), Shahi Syed said that our society is at the target of an international enemy who wants to destabilize Pakistan.
