NEW DELHI – One after another misprinting of Indian map enraged Indians as on the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese state-owned television CCTV kicked up a conspiracy by showing Indian map without the state of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile Modi was visiting Xi’an city, hometown of Chinese president Xi Jinping, for a meeting with president.
The wrong map was shown during a bulletin over Modi’s visit to China.
It is important to note here that Arunachal Pardesh and Jammu Kashmir is a disputed area between India and China. China has been claimed its territorial right over Arunachal Pardesh and parts of Jammu and Kashmir, but India always strongly resisted China’s stance.
The other happening which made Indians more furious was the depiction of Indian map by CEO Facebook Mark Zuckerberg.
Mark posted an infographic on Facebook in the merriment of his birthday, in which he featured the map of India without Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Zuckerberg posted the infographic on May 13, 2015 announcing the launch of Internet.org in Malawi, Africa. It showed countries where Facebook’s initiative has been launched.
One of Indians spotted his error with the words, “Great job, please correct the Indian map on this picture, Kashmir is missing.”
His comment got almost 2500 likes and over 350 replies.
Another Indian fixed his error by posting the actual map via twitter. An Indian tweeted something like this.
