ISLAMABAD – With the help of a lucky draw, decision has been taken for the lucky Muslims who will perform Hajj this year under government’s scheme. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf held a computerized draw for the selection of the forms.
This year the Ministry received 2 lac 69 thousand 3 hundred and 68 applications from which 71,684 were selected.
While talking to the journalists, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf told that this year 1, 43,368 individuals would accomplish their Hajj. The online system of filing Hajj applications was introduced for the first time. From Punjab province 1 lac 22 thousand applications were received, while from KPK there were 57 and from Balochistan there were 15 thousand 280 applications.
From Wana 4 thousand 4 hundred and 55 individuals filed their applications. Among these applications, 1 lac 1 thousand applicants were of female and 1 lac 24 thousand were of males.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf also told that the Hajj expenses have also been cut. Those who have been selected in draw would have to submit their readable passport to the relevant branch till 25th May 2015.
He also said that if the application of the mother or a spouse of a selected person in the group has been rejected then they should contact with Hajj Joint Secretary. Decision would be made regarding these persons within 15 days.
Hajj Operation will start from August 16, 2015. He told that the lucky applicants will be listed on the ministry’s official website and will also be congratulated through SMS.
