President Xi's Visit: New Era Of China-Pak Friendship Begins      |     PakistanTribe.comISLAMABAD- China’s President Xi Jinping has signed agreements with Pakistan promising investment of $46bn (£30.7bn).

Xi Jinping and Premeir Nawaz Sharif have inaugurated 8 of these projects. Whereas the foundation stone of 5 others were laid through video link.

The Projects about Power and electricity will be completed within 3-5 years

The most important project is to build roads and railways  from Gwadar in Pakistan to China’s western Xinjiang region under the project of Pak-China economic corridor.

Cooperation in the energy sector:These projects includes increase the production of electricity, up-gradation of transmission line in Murree, Karachi-Lahore motorway, Metro transit system orange line Lahore

Cultural Cooperation: In addition, the two governments agreed to establish sister-city relationships between Chengdu (Sichuan province) and Lahore, Zhuhai (Guangdong province) and Gwadar, and Karamay (Xianjian Ugur province) and Gwadar.

 Also other project includes, Establishment of Pak-china cultural center, DTMB broadcasting, FM radio channel for friendship.

 Projects that were signed thorough video link: power projects included 720MW Karot hydropower project, 200MW wind power project and 900MW Zonergy solar power project in Bahawalpur, two coal-fired power plants of 660 MW in Thar, a coal-mining project at Thar Block-II and Thar coal power project of 1,200MW, two 1,320MW power projects in Muzaffargarh, 1,320MW coal-based power plants in Sahiwal and 870MW Suki Kenari hydropower project.

Strategic Cooperation: China will also give security equipments to Pakistan. Other project includes, establishment of the branch of China’s Trade and commercial bank in Lahore, Optic fiber cable project around Pak-china border, assistance for Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline and the development of LNG terminal in Gawador.
