KARACHI – Reacting to the protest demonstration staged by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Sindh Information and Local government Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon wondered if the MQM has approached the court then why is it holding sit-ins and protests.
While addressing a press conference Sharjeel Memon said the delimitations could not be reversed through sit-dins and demonstrations. “If MQM intends to sort out the issue through talks, our doors are open even today,” he added.
The Information Minister termed it inappropriate to give the demarcation of constituencies a political shade and that just like other parts of the country the exercise of delimitation was also carried out in Karachi. “It is for the first time that party based local bodies polls are held,” he added.
He, however, termed as justified MQM’s reservations over delimitations in some specific parts of the city.
