International Cricket in Pakistan: BIG News For Pakistanis From Sri Lankan President|PakistanTribe.com

ISLAMABAD – Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has said that Sri Lankan cricket team will soon visit Pakistan.

According to media reports, Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain met with his Sri Lankan counterpart on Monday here in Islamabad. During the meeting Sri Lankan President shared the good news by telling President Mamnoon Hussain that Sri Lankan team will soon visit Pakistan.

President Mamnoon Hussain said attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore back 2009 was a sad incident. He also assured that any terror attack like that will never happen in future again. He further said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Sri Lanka. Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy friendly and cordial ties.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sri Lankan team was on their way to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the third day of the second Test in 2009 when some armed men opened fire and threw grenades at their bus. At least eight people were killed.
