ISLAMABAD – Joint session of parliament will be held today (April 6) to discuss the situation of Yemen that whether or not Pakistan will send its troops to Saudi Arabia and also to make a foreign policy concerning the security of Saudi Arabia.
All political parties, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will participate in this session.
According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called a joint session of Parliament today and the meeting will be held at 10:00 am. Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif will present a resolution in the joint session.
Parliamentary leaders of all parliamentary parties, senior ministers and senior parliamentarians will participate in the debate on the Yemen situation.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI chairman Imran Khan made an announcement on Sunday that he will present his party’s stance over the Yemen situation in the National Assembly and PTI will now play the role of fulfilling opposition.
Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has told that parliament would decide as to what role Pakistan should play in the Yemen conflict.
This is for the first time that a session of this level has been called to determine Pakistan’s role in a foreign conflict.
