LAHORE – Punjab police failed to minimize its list of wanted criminals as more than 150 criminals of Red Book and Black Book have still not arrested even after lapse of years, PakistanTribe reported.
The criminals, belonging to different parts of Punjab and involved in serious crimes including Kidnapping for ransom, extortion, terrorism and other heinous crimes against humanity are moving free in the country.
Sources told that the criminals were announced with millions of rupees as head money but police even does not know whether or not the criminals or alive.
A police source, who wish not to be nominated here as he was not allowed to speak to media, told that department does not know the escaped wanted criminals are in Pakistan or left the country many years back. Even it is not conform whether they are alive or not.
He also said that it is common practice, being observed in his police career, that the escaped prisoners sometimes join some Jihadi group for the time being as a safe zone for them and come back to their hideouts in the area when the situation is favorable for them. But their presence is a threat to humanity.
Chief Minister Punjab has ordered the police to arrest the escaped ones at any cost but no big fish was caught by police yet.
Not to forget that last month, intelligence agencies had informed the law enforcement agencies in Punjab about the presence of hard core terrorists who may attack the sensitive installations of Punjab.
