QUETTA – Health Department launched two-day Anti-Polio campaign in eight districts of Baluchistan and 18 union councils of provincial capital, Quetta, PakistanTribe reported.
Provincial Health Department established total 868 teams for eight districts of Baluchistan and 18 union councils of Quetta districts.
In Quetta, total 247,079 children will be vaccinated and 259,133 in other districts of Baluchistan. The department further confirms that the teams will also cover the area of Pak-Afghan border and the families living in Pak-Afghan border near Chaman area.
“No child will be allowed to get into the country without polio vaccination,” the official of health department told.
He also said that the teams were provided full security for their campaign as the only hurdle in anti-polio campaign is security for the teams.
Pakistan is witness for such attacks on polio team in all areas of the country especially in Baluchistan, Metropolis Karachi and KP.
Two weeks ago in Mansehra, a lady health worker and a policeman were shot dead while the other lady health worker had sustained serious injuries due a firing on polio team.
Unknown miscreants had opened fire on polio team in Sheikh Murad Abad area of Mansehra in which a lady health worker and a police constable were died at the spot whereas the other lady health worker sustained serious injuries.
