KARACHI/LONDON – MQM Chief Altaf Hussain tenders his resignation from party leadership saying that party workers should devote themselves for humanity instead of political activities, PakistanTribe reported.
Altaf Hussain formally tenders his resignation from party leadership saying that he can not bear any more burden as he always faces criticism.
“I will not be leading the party from now on,” he announced. He further suggested that “Workers should call off the movement and stop all political activities. MQM should divert all resources towards Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) and serve mankind.”
Altaf Hussain further said that he is being victimized by Army and Government without any crime. “I have been in exile for the last 24 years,” he said. “And my decision to quit leadership is the need of time.”
He suggested that “Workers can choose another leader by reaching a consensus,” he meant Farooq Sattar, the senior party member, as a new leader.
“You can lead the party from now on, my best wishes are with you,” he said. “I’ll guide my people with articles if i got chance.”
