Are We Really Living In The Technology Driven World | PakistanTribe.comRAWALPINDI – In this era of technology, Excise Motor Branch is still working without any online record, paving way for corruption on ground.

High official threatened DG Motor Branch, Excise Department, of possibility of issuing two registration books for one vehicle in the absence of online records of registration.

Rawalpindi region along with whole province has no online record of motor branch which creates many problems. DG excise issued orders to make records online, and therefore, interlink the same with each department in order to avoid any discrepancy.

The source told that, computerization of records of Excise and Taxation took place in year 2007. Government spent millions on this project but now it is revealed that Motor Branch record has not yet computerized and interlinked with rest of the departments.

High official suspected that there is a possibility of issuance of two registration books for one vehicle which may end up in the worst security crisis.

Report is submitted to DG Excise who ordered authorities to computerize and interlink the records of Motor Branch. He advised to computerize the things on urgent bases.

Many cases came to the headlines earlier where one vehicle had two books.

DG Excise further said that those who are involved in this negligence will be taken to trial.

Any person can get the multiple registration books either from Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock, and the Excise Department has no means to stop such persons from doing this.
