KARACHI – Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah says that Sindh province should not ignore regarding Liquefied Natural Gas and the gas extracted from here should be given to Sindh, PakistanTribe reported.

Qaim Ali Shah said that Federal government has not taken Sindh government in confidence on LNG import. He said that Sindh government has reservation on this import.

“Federal has not taken us in confidence over gas import matter,” the Chief Minister said. “We just need Sindh not to be ignored in this matter.”

He also said that LNG is expensive in rates than natural gas but the government imported LNG instead of focusing on natural gas.

He was talking to media personnel in Karachi on Friday.

Qaim Ali Shah also said that Baluchistan is producing 23% natural gas but Balochis are ignored. He demanded government to allocate all the gas extracted from Sindh for the Sindh province only.

Pakistan has imported LNG from Qatar to overcome energy crises in the country. Minister of petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had said about the import “It is the first ever shipment in the history of Pakistan that has reached at port Qasim. With the help of this shipment 147,000 cubic meters of LNG is imported from Qatar.”
