The clerks were on roads for the last 16 hours to demand increase in their incomes. After the result oriented dialogue with Punjab government they ended their sit-in on the Friday morning. Blind people also joined them in the protest.
The poor clerks wore bread and vegetables saying that we cannot purchase these necessary items, but government of Punjab has no sympathy for us.
Whimpering about the inflation, the workers demanded that government should increase their income in proportion to the rate of inflation in the country.
They demanded that the workers of Punjab should be upgraded in a same manner as in the KPK.
The clerks chanted intense slogans against Chief Minister Punjab. They promulgated that government of Punjab should increase our income to make us meet our both ends.
Blind people also went on strike and joined clerks in raising their voice for their right. Blind people joined the protest and presented their demands as well. They chanted slogans for their very rights.
The chanted slogans echoed everywhere that workers want an upgrade in their salary and rank, because at this moment that are not even in a position to buy the basic necessities of life.
Former law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that legitimate demands have been approved and committee is formed to follow the directions as concluded in the talks.
The whole traffic system suspended due to the demonstrations.
