NEW DELHI – Union Minister in India, Maneka Gandhi, recommends to use ‘Cow Urine’ for cleansing in offices instead of any other chemically manufactured products, arguing that ‘Gaunyle’ is environment friendly, PakistanTribe learnt through Indian media reports.
Maneka Gandhi wrote a letter to Indian Prime Minister recommending ‘Gaunyle’ a cleansing liquid made from cow urine extracts, arguing that it “environment-friendly”.
An Indian daily reported quoting her words “I would request you to replace phenyl, which is currently being used in your ministry and is chemically bad for environment, with Gaunyle.”
The journal further states that “Maneka Gandhi, minister for women and child development, said the Kendriya Bhandar is now stocking the ‘Gaunyle’. The product is being marketed by an NGO, Holy Cow Foundation. It is said to be environment friendly as it does not have a synthetic base like phenyl but is not as strong as the latter. Phenyl is the cheap cleaning liquid which is widely used in government offices to clean floor and toilets.”
The newspaper also collected the date about use of cow urine and its popularity in Indian as it states that “A large number of the 7,835 licensed ayurvedic , herbal, drug manufacturing units in the country make medical formulations from Panchgavya. Panchagavya is a collective name of five products obtained from cow like milk, curd, ghee, urine and dung.”
India is one of the countries where cow is considered as ‘Goddess’ among the people affiliated with Hindu Religion. Cow slaughter is legal crime in India and every thing related to cow is believed ‘sacred’ including urine.
