DI KHAN – With the start of summer season in Pakistan, electricity load-shedding touches the maximum hours making the life difficult for people, PakistanTribe reported.
People’s protest was observed in different cities of Pakistani, especially in DI Khan where the people have blocked the road with burning tyres to record their protest against long load-shedding of electricity.
People in different cities of country blamed that VIP areas of city are given electricity round the clock but other are facing un-announced load-shedding.
It was reported by a local news channel referring the PEPCO that the short fall has been increased more than 5,000 MW. The production limit was 8,000 Mega Watt (MW) where the demand was 15,000 MW.
However, as usual, minister of petroleum has given another new statement about load-shedding saying that “this summer there will be comparatively less load shedding in the country.”
Earlier Pakistan’s federal Minister for Water and Power, also defense Minister, Khawaja Asif had expressed the hope to overcome the power load-shedding by 2017.
The Minister while talking to a local news channel has said for this purpose, the government is working on a number of projects.
Federal Minister had promised that load shedding would come to an end within three to four years with the addition of 11,000 megawatts (MW) in the national grid.
