LAHORE – Defeated team Pakistan of quarter final of CWC 2015 reached home in two phases as captain Misbah ul haq and other players went home from Lahore airport after passing through the National cricket academy.
Preparations for Bangladesh tour will start after some rest. Pacer Wahab Riaz said that despite putting in 100% effort we could not finished as victor, upon that, we are sorry to the nation.
According to a source, team Pakistan reached home in two phases after being defeated by Kangaroos in the knockout stage. Captain Misbah ul Haq, Ahmad Shahzad, Nasir Jamshed, Muhammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz, Ihsan Adil, Sohaib Maqsood and Rahat Ali included in the squad which reached Lahore airport, bowling Coach Mushtaq Ahmad and team manager Naveed Akram were with them.
Players were carried to the National cricket academy from Hajj terminal in high security. During this no one was allowed to talk to media or fans, players moved to their houses from NCA.
Before this, Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz Ahmad and Sohail Khan reached Karachi airport on Sunday evening. Players will take rest for few days, meanwhile important decision are to be expected regarding restructuring of team.
Later, preparations for Bangladesh tour will be started. However, pacer Wahab Riaz once again apologize the nation while talking to media.
He said that every player tried his best but unfortunately we could not succeed.
“Bowling short pitch deliveries to Shane Watson was the part of the plan, had we been able to out Australia it would be a great success. Had that catch not been dropped the result of the match could have been different, but it is the part of the game. Every player of team Pakistan tries his level best not to lose any opportunity. Rahat Ali would never have thought that catch will be dropped; he is a good mate player and will remain so.”
