ISLAMABAD – Government to increase the prices of natural gas through out the country which will be effected from the 1st April, PakistanTribe reported.
A local media outlet reported about the expected price hike of natural gas as it states that government has plans to increase prices from 15% to 64%.
Prices will be increased up to 53% for industrial users, 18% for commercial users ,and 15% for domestic users.
It is worth mentioning that in the last winter season, people had suffered due to long load shedding of gas. In some area, people had no gas to cook the food.
Earlier in December, government had also gas price for industrial consumers by 53pc, commercial category of gas consumers by 18pc, fertilizer plants by 64pc and for captive power plants by 30pc.
It was told that “The gas tariff for commercial consumers will be set at Rs750 per Million British Thermal Unit (MBTU) with an increase of Rs114/mmbtu, while for industrial consumers gas price will be set at Rs750/mmbtu with increase of Rs262/mmbtu, and Rs750/mmbtu with increase of Rs94/mmbtu for consumers of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).”
For the consumer it was decided that “the gas tariff for consumers of feed stock will be set at Rs200/mmbtu with a raise of Rs76/mmbtu, and gas price for consumers of Captive Power Plants will be set at Rs 750/mmbtu with a raise of Rs177/mmbtu.”
Now again government want to increase the prices however Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has not announced any price change yet.
