Dr. Waseem Khawaja, PIMS spokesperson told that within 24 hours almost 50 patients has been facilitated with Oxygen in PIMS emergency department.
He further informed that additional staff members are on duty in emergency ward. He told that 50 Nebulization machines have been installed for patients. Whereas, special measures has been taken to facilitate serious patients.
After wet and cold winter, the spring has set in. Soon the sprouting process of trees will start and they will produce pollen grains in the air that creates problems to the people suffering from respiratory diseases.
The weather conditions foreseen during March will be relatively drier and sunny as compared to the February. In Islamabad, the pollen producing species are mainly pines, grasses, cannabis and paper mulberry. Among them, paper mulberry pollen has the largest concentration in Islamabad and its peak season matches with March. This may be treated as first alert for the patient’s sensitive the pollen allergy.
Dr. Waseem suggests pollen patients to follow the safety measures.
