LAHORE – Identification of the people who protested violently after the twin blasts in Lahore has been started by local police.
According to the details, the photographs of 200 people have been sent to NADRA for identification.
Twin blasts near the churches in Lahore had killed 15 People, and left 70 people injured. Igniting a violent protests that led to the death of policeman by a storming mob, locals also smashed buildings and looted shops.
Protesters in Lahore’s Youhanabad area, where the twin bombings took place, jarred with dozens of baton-wielding police personnel.
One protester was killed while several were battered when a car hit them at Ferozpure Road.
During the protest, stones were thrown at policemen who were holding up protective plastic shields. The police under the instructions by the Punjab government used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Following an attack on a metro bus in Lahore, authorities had to shortened bus routes as approximately 200 people continued to protest in various parts of the provincial capital such as Youhanabad, Nishtar Colony and Band road.
Televised Media reported that the identification process of the people who took part in the violent protest has been started and their photographs have been provided to NADRA for proof of identity.
Chief Minster Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Pakistan Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan had said that those involved in violence will never be forgiven.
Nisar had said that burning two people alive is the worst example of inhumanity. Shehbaz Sharif, the provincial CM has directed police to chase the miscreants as soon as possible.
