QUETTA – Polio vaccination in Quetta once again stopped for security reason, PakistanTribe learnt through televised media reports.
The campaign was also postponed in the start of March due to security reasons.
It was said that the provincial administration had failed to provide timely security to polio vaccination teams in Quetta. “Without security guards, we cannot move our teams in the city,” the official in health department said.
Security of polio teams have been tightened in the aftermath of attacks at polio team in Quetta and other parts of Baluchistan.
Further a new polio case emerged in Baluchistan today (Monday) as a three month old boy from Quetta was detected with the crippling disease.
The three month old body, identified as Abdul Rehman Achakzai, a resident of Pashtunabad in Quetta had contracted the crippling polio virus.
