QUETTA – Frontier Constabulary seized the smuggled diesel of Iran from Panjgur area earlier on Monday, PakistanTribe reported.
According to details, FC has seized the 98,000 liter diesel which was smuggled from Iran.
“The diesel was smuggled in 5 oil tankers,” told an FC official. The investigations are underway.
Earlier Security forces on a tip-off had recovered more than 6 thousand liters of diesel smuggling to Karachi through 25 passenger coaches in a search operation on last Monday.
According to Frontier Corps (FC) spokesperson, 6420 liters of Iranian diesel was being transferred to Karachi from Turbat.
Security forces stopped the coaches at Baleli checkpost and recovered the diesel from them whereas the drivers denied of carrying the diesel illegally to Karachi.
FC has launched a big crackdown against the people involved in smuggling of diesel from Iran. In January the Gwadar Customs along with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, had arrested six Iranian diesel smugglers.
According to Customs Collectorate Gwadar, the agency officials had seized 65,000 litres of Iranian diesel, worth Rs3,575,000 in the open market.
“The officials had sighted a boat coming towards a picketed area from the Iranian side of the sea. The boat was checked by the Customs staff and found it loaded with Iranian diesel,” a Customs official had told.
