PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan launched local justice system with committees of respectful locals to resolve conflicts to ensure quick and inexpensive justice to the people of Kyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
While talking to journalists in Gulberg police station of Peshawar, where he introduced the system, PTI chief said that this is such kind of meeting or jury where people can take their disputes from courts and police stations to get resolved.
He further elaborate that the committee will be comprises of well-known individuals and will try to solve the disputes without involving the police and the courts.
He said: “it will save people’s time and money of hiring lawyers and other expenses, we have seen a process in which local committee members listen the views of both parties, who have eight years long conflict and they resolved it quickly “
He added that the system will have earned over the world, especially in Pakistan, where 110 million people do not have access to a balanced diet.
Chief Minister KP and I.G police Nasir Khan Durrani were also along him, Imran Khan said the new system is vital for rural people who are poor and do not have capacity to bear court fees.
He said police have sacrificed a lot in the militancy-hit province, and despite the lack of resources they are carrying out their duties.
He further said “we acknowledge the bravery of the police and thinking about increasing salaries for police officers and trying to introduce reward system to increase their commitments”.
