This time the question is solved by the research conducted across Pakistan stating that 54% Pakistanis would prefer meat, instead of vegetables and pulses, in their diet.
According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 54% Pakistanis would prefer meat, instead of vegetables and pulses, in their diet.
A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Suppose that there was no difference in their price, then which of vegetables, pulses or meat would you like the most in their diet?” Responding to this, 54% would prefer meat the most followed by 31% who named vegetables. 14% would prefer pulses. 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2619 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during September 14, 2013 – Sept 21, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
